MTI Course Attendance Policy

All participants are expected to attend all class meetings. Class absences equivalent to more than three hours will result in the participant having to withdraw from the course and take it at a later date.

The course is very intensive. In addition to attendance, there will be reading and homework assignments to be completed between each class meeting. All coursework must be completed by the end of the last class meeting.

Teachers will also be responsible for taking an on-line pre-inventory of items related to mathematical knowledge for teaching prior the beginning of the course and a post-inventory on-line after the course is complete. The results of this inventory will be kept strictly confidential and used only by IDMT staff for research purposes.

Class Details

Summer 2012 MTI 4-8 HYBRID course Region II (Lewiston)

This 4-8 MTI course will be held in Lewiston at the Curriculum Resource Center; August 2nd from 8:30-5:30. The remainder of the course is divided between asynchronous course modules. We highly recommend you have high speed internet access at home, that you feel competent in attaching/posting documents, and that you have previously participated in an online course. Please note that the original course description contained dates and times for several synchronous online meetings. Based on observations and feedback from the last year, we are going to make the course substantially more flexible time wise. You will therefore not be required to be online during a certain time on a specific day, although you may need to virtually meet with group members or the facilitator to discuss assignments or questions. You will also have the option to attend webinar-type lectures in real time.
